Because most of the Universities that we assist in applying to are completely tuition-free, there aren’t a lot of scholarships available for our typical applicant. Due to this and the complexity of the process, we cannot offer this service. We recommend you visit www.daad.de if you are interested in scholarships for study in Germany.

No, you cannot study for a degree in Germany without A’levels as you are not recognized to have a high school qualification comparable to the German Abitur. Yes, international students who wish to take up jobs after they graduate are required to apply for a normal residence permit extension. They can extend it for up to 18 months during which the student can look for jobs. Once you are offered a job, you can then proceed to apply for the EU Blue Card. THis card helps you to stay and work in multiple European countries. If you would like to settle permanently, then you can apply for a settlement permit as early as 2 years after receiving the EU Card.

Yes. Non-EU/EEA students are allowed to work in Germany alongside their studies, for 120 full days or 240 half days per year. If you take an internship during your semester break, this is regarded as normal work, even if it’s unpaid. This means that every day of your internship is subtracted from your 120-day credit balance. However, mandatory internships which are required for your course do not count towards your limit. However, non-EU students are not permitted to work in a self-employed or freelance capacity.

Germany introduced a minimum wage in 2021; it currently stands at 9,50 EUR an hour. How much you can earn however depends heavily on your skills, the industry in which you are working, and the regional labour market. In cities like Munich or Hamburg hourly wages are usually higher, but so is the cost of living. For academic assistants, production assistants in industry or service staff at trade fairs the average hourly wage is often somewhat higher than the minimum wage.

Students can hold a minijob and earn up to 450 EUR per month without having to pay taxes. If you regularly earn more than 450 EUR, you will need a tax number, and a certain amount will be taken from your wages every month. Students can get this money back at the end of the year by submitting a tax return.
